I have been using AuctionAds for the last weeks, without having much visitors, but from 25,000 impressions, 390 clicks I’ve earned $11.74. I don’t have a good ad placement for AuctionAds, but it has a decent CTR of 1.55%, that, unfortunately, doesn’t generate revenue.

About two months ago i was enthusiastic when after a few days of using it i got a $16.40 commission from a click, but since then everything seems to have been turned bad.

Also, their reporting graphs are wrong and have almost no relevance to the reports. Here’s an example where you can see that my $.78 commission is placed above the $1 point, but still at another $1 point. That really is confusing. See for yourself:

Shoemoney definitely has a lot to improve until it can get good results and offer a high quality service. There are a lot of users complaining that they are getting extremely low CPM.

There also are moments when neither the website or the ads are loading, so my website has either an empty zone or a zone with “page not found” error. That’s very frustrating for us, the users and unprofessional for them.

So, at least for me, AuctionAds is not a good option for monetizing my website.

Shoemoney, no offence, this is my sincere opinion on AuctionAds and this is my experience with the system.

Lately, i have been searching for better ways of website monetization. We all who have websites want more money, don’t we ? I have found a few ways of monetization, but almost all of them doesn’t sound too good, unfortunately.

1. Contextual Advertising. The best of these services seem to be offered by Google, with their Adsense program and by Yahoo, with YPN. Other services aren’t quite contextual and offer really low bids, in comparison with those. But, if you are banned by Adsense and outside US ( YPN allows only US Publishers ) you will have to choose from Clicksor or Bidvertiser, which seem to be the best, excluding Adsense and YPN.

2. Affiliate Marketing. This means putting affiliate banners or links on your website and getting paid for lead or sale. For sales you will be paid a percentage of the sale or a fixed amount. Of course, for many sales and signups, you have to put ads related to your website’s content ( e.g. Don’t try to sell auto pieces on kids website ). The best paying companies are: Commission Junction, ClickBank, Shareasale and AzoogleAds.

3. Contextual Advertising + Affiliate Marketing. Because you can add CPA banners along with contextual text ads on the same website, you should try to combine them for a better conversion. For me, the best combination seems to be Google Adsense and Commission Junction.

4. Link sales. If you have an interesting, high PR and high traffic website, people should be interesting in buying links or banners on your website. You can try to sell them directly, by putting a ‘buy’ button on your website or using a specialized link selling company. The most used is Text Link Ads.

5. Feed Advertising. This seems to be a new concept of advertising and it’s good for websites with much subscribers at their Rss feeds. I only know a company selling this kind of advertising ( Text Link Ads ). They will put a text ad in your feed and pay you just as for link sales.

6. Selling Memberships. If you have a Forum, Blog or almost any kind of website that could sell any membership, which gives the member a benefit than the guest, you should try to sell, first for low prices and if it works, you should raise it. You could offer them access to forums only available to paid members, to hidden blog posts, free downloads or anything you could think at.

7.Selling your own product. If your website hasn’t been built from scratch with the goal of selling a product of yours, you should think of providing the users a product related to the website’s content. There are more ways of doing this, like could simply selling it or using the idea from 6., requiring the user to pay a monthly/yearly/lifetime membership which offers him the ability to use or download the product/s.

8. Offering paid services. You can use your website to promote the services you offer, like Search Engine Optimization, Website Development, Web Design or Programming. This is still a monetization, because your website is the one that promotes you and your services.

This month, i started selling a few products for CJ and earned comissions. But one day i noticed i was missing $200, two comissions from the same company ( anhosting.com ) and at the details it wrote ‘invalid credit card’. What’s up with them, they only noticed after 20 days that the credit card was invalid ? Or is there other explanation ?

So i won’t recommend the affiliation with those kind of hosting companies, like anhosting.com, that have banners which say the price is $3.95 or other small sum and there are no hidden fees, but when you try to buy, you need to pay for 2 years of hosting or there will be a setup fee + a monthly price 3 times more than the one specified.

Take care and watch out who you affiliate with !

Or maybe not. And i`m not even far from that, unfortunately.

In the past months, i`ve done my best and built a few websites ( about 15 ) which had pretty good traffic and revenue for me and for what i expected, but when i look at others, that with websites like mine are earning a fortune, i’m kinda going nuts.
I’ve tried monetizing my websites with Google Adsense and i earned a bit, at least i earned. But with affiliation, according to this post, which is still true, i earned exactly $0.00 and i`m not quite happy with that.

Ok so Adsense is earning me a bit, affiliation nothing, but what with Myspace marketing ? Yes, i’ve tried that too and guess what … a few unique visitors, $0.00 revenue. That can’t be right, there’s something fishy here. Why others can and only i can’t ?

And when i was thinking about this, i got kinda mad and i really have to do something. Ok, affiliation seems to be a bit hard, at least in the beginning, so i will leave it for later. But i have to monetize my websites, at least with Google Adsense. So, from now on i will work 2 times harder than until now and i’ll post the results here, hope they’ll be better
Wish me Good Luck

The Myspace community is too big for the internet marketers to miss it. It is such a nice and fast source an income. But is it that easy to earn a penny with it ?

I am going to try my marketing skills with it and answer to this question myself.

You can find everything you need for Myspace on the internet, from ‘buddy adder’ softwares to layouts, photos or even ready made accounts with hundreds of thousands of friends. But even will all those things helping you, it is not that easy. There are two main problems. what to sell and who to sell to ?

The questions may have a lot of answers, but only a few can be good. Myself i am following shoemoney’s path in the mobile phones industry and i will be trying to sell ringtones and maybe mobile phones.

I will post updates as the process will evoluate, currently i am making friends, building the website and finding some affiliate programs to offer me a good percent from the sales.

Using your skills and knowledges.

You should think at something you are good at and you can right about it easily.

Then this should be a niche, if it is a general thing ( e.g software ) find a niche ( e.g symbian s60 mobile phones software ) and start making a website. If you are good at design and programming you should build it by your own, if not, use a template or use a blogging software ( e.g wordpess ).
After that apply for a google adsense account, if you don`t have one already.

Then think at a good ad placement, so people can see your ads. The best locations are the header and the main content. So you should insert the ads in your content and a link ad in the header. You have to figure this up depending on your website.

Do a little website optimization, choose some keywords, a description and start making content related to them.

Start promoting your website on forums or other websites ( don`t spam ! )

Submit it in directories ( 10-15 directories daily ) and get to it on related websites.

If you have chosen a good niche and done well with the website, ad placement and optimization, you should see the money increasing.

Good Luck

I will post some tips of monetizing a website, but don`t expect of getting a get-rich-quick-plan. The money depends on the website category and number of visits.

If you have a website, blog or forum, you can monetize it easily. First, you need as many visits as you can get. For this, you can use many methods, excepting SPAM or artificial traffic ( surf programs, paid to read, paid to click ). You have to know the base of internet marketing and SEO ( search engine optimization ).

If your website is in the first results of some search engines, especially Google, for some keywords, you will get visitors. To do that you need to get some BackLinks from another sites of the same category as yours and to have a lot of unique and good content. If the content is good and liked by the visitors, is liked by the search engines too and they rank you well.

After you`ve done that well, you have to put some ads on your website.

If your website isn`t porn or warez/cracks ( i don`t recommend a websites like the last listed ones ), it`s recommended that you apply for Google Adsense contextual ads. After they aproove you, if they do, you have to place the ads in the content. the most favoured places are in the header and the center of the website, right in the content, to fit with it ( same colours, same font etc. ).

You cannot place another contextual advertising on the same website where you have Google Adsense, because it will ban you. But you can place some CPM/CPA ads. CPM pays you per thousand views of ad and CPA per action. If you have many visits, you can apply for TribaFusion, CasaleMedia or others. If not, you should try Axill.com. Those ads should be placed in the header of the website, becase they have to be well seen. From my experience, the most clicked ads of this type are the standard banners ( 468*60 ) and the SkyScrapers.

This is all. If you follow all this steps and do some research work, you should manage to monetize your website.

GoodLuck
