Mixx Kinda Fails To Make Competition To Digg

ReadWriteWeb has written a very interesting post about Mixx. Now it’s one year old and traffic seems to grow really fast, but still can’t be a liable competitor for Digg, receiving less than 5% of Digg’s traffic.

Still, it seems to be on the good road and might grow, especially that Digg is full of spam stories, flames and unsatisfied users.

I am not gonna lie, I think nothing will take down Digg except itself. Hopefully it doesn’t though cause I like it.

To expect for a site to take over Digg in such a short amount of time is ridiculous. However, you can guarantee that Digg won’t always remain at the top of the heap.

Nothing will stay at the top all the time. There will be times when others take over the place. This is no exception with Digg.

Thats too bad. I probably go to Mixx more than Digg, hopefully they can become more equal.

Mixx has always been a favorite of mine. I use Digg but i think Mixx’s algorithm promotes better stories.

I think I like Digg more personally. I have a mixx account that I haven’t even touched yet. But like you say, they have potential to grow into something bigger, so it will be interesting to wait and see!

Mixx has always been a favorite of mine.

In my case, Mixx seems to be driving more traffic than Digg. Maybe having been an early adapter of Digg would have helped?
