Wordpress is a plugin-based blogging software and there are thousands of plugins available for it. But not all are really useful, so i will recommend you the ones i’m using and i really need.

1. Akismet is a preinstalled plugin and it protects you against spam. It is not 100% perfect, but almost. It sometimes tags some legit comments as spam or lets spam comments pass by.

2. Sitemaps builds a site map for your website, that you can submit to Google, so the bots navigate all your website more easily. It helps for indexing.

3. Remove nofollow removes the nofollow attribute from the links in comments, so your readers can get valuable links in exchange for their comment. If you manage your blog and protect from spam, this plugin is highly recommended.

4. SEO title tag removes the duplicate titles from your blog and puts your post title as your blog page title, depending on it;s configuration. It increases traffic from search engines and also your rankings.

5. WordPress Database Backup, as it’s name states, it backs up your database and you have the option to store it on the server, receive it in your email or download it. You should regularly backup your database.
