The Moblogs

Posted on 03 November 2006

The future of weblogs seem to be the moblogs, blogs uploaded directly from the mobile phone.

There are already a few companies who think or already started to implement this into their websites, like Veeker and Youtube.

Veeker launched Radar,  a service that lets users to post photos from their mobile phone directly on its website, while JuiceCaster allows it’s members to post to social networking websites or weblogs directly from their mobile phones.

Youtube wants to implement the video sharing from mobile phones, but they say it will take about one year until then.

The experts estimate that there will be about 655,000 mobloggers at the end of the year and about 2.7 million by 2011.

It seems that weblogs haven’t been a trend that only stays alive for a while, their effect grows more and more and they evolve. And moblogging is a great idea, why wait until i get home to post something, when i could post it from any location.

    That’s something I didn’t think of.

It will skyrocket for sure in the next year

I agree that moblogs are up and coming. Within seconds, a photo can be posted to webpage. Say for instance, I want to know what the latest fashion in mens shoes are. As soon as I see something unusual or different, Boom!, it’s up on my Blog.

I think emergency services will find this technology quite useful. An example would be a witness to a serious accident can quickly text message a photo to a site in which the local fire department can review and revise their emergency tactics to the type and severity the accident.

Moblogs are the wave of the future.
