How to build a blog ?

Posted on 17 July 2006

Lately, a lot of people using the internet are writing in their own blog, just as i`m writing in this one and a few more. It became a fashion.

Would you like to write into your own blog and don`t know how? Follow my short guide and you`ll be able to do it.

There are 2 ways, one very easy and free and one a little harder.

Let`s start with the easier one:

First, you have to visit blogspot.com and follow the Create your blog now link. After that, you complete the forms with your username, password, display name, email and check the box, only if you agree with the terms.

After that you choose a blog title, write the shown code and choose a blog adress. The blog adress with be the link that your friends will use to visit your blog. for example http://yourblog.blogspot.com. I recommend you choose a small easy to retain and spell name. Then you follow the continue link.

Next you will have to choose a blog template and follow the continue link again.Wait a little until your blog is being created and then start posting.

The second way requires you to buy a web hosting package and a domain name. You can buy those from registrars or web hosting websites, or you can get them free from free tld - free domain names website.

Let`s say you buy a domain from registerfly.com and a web hosting package from hostgator. After everything is set up you will have to log into your cPanel with the username and password given by hostgator, at this adress: yourdomain.com/cpanel

After that, go to fantastico and then to wordpress. there you have to follow the New installation link. Choose a domain, a directory where you want your blog installed to, admin username and password ( don`t forget those ) and all the following fields. After that, press the Install Wordpress button, then the finnish button and you`re done.

Now you have your own blog to write in :)
Good Luck
